Day 24 Wardrobe Inspiration: Masculine vs Feminine

Masculine vs Feminine

Opposites attract.

One of the best style tricks to pull off is mixing the unexpected, like opposing masculine and feminine elements. Marlene Dietrich thought though, anyway, and it still works a treat 80 years later. That’s what I call style.

How to…

Brogues with a girly dress, a tie or bow tie, a man’s watch… just raid your boyfriend’s closet is what I’m saying, if he’s remotely stylish.

Today I’m wearing…

A girly floral dress, brogues from Clark’s and my grandpa’s watch.

Day 23 Wardrobe Inspiration: Lace, sheer or shiny

Something lace, sheer or shiny

 – add instant glamour to today’s outfit.

I love the way a lace top can instantly glam up a pair of jeans and a blazer. I also love silk – you can’t help but feel sexy in it.

How to…

Enjoy with caution and in small doses. As a word of warning, very cheap lace also looks very cheap. At least opt for one of the nicer high street brands. Keep the rest of your outfit non-shiny, non-sheer and non-lacey.

Today I’m wearing…

An orange lace dress from Oasis from the previous year. Summery and elegant – love it!

Day 22 Wardrobe Inspiration: Dress up

Dress up

Dresses are the epitome of style.

Different dress for every day of the week? No problem. I only have about 70.

How to…

Dresses are the most stylish items in any woman’s wardrobe, and if you ask me, also the most comfortable. Effortlessly chic comes to mind – none of the mad mixing and matching is required here. Put on a dress and you’re dressed. Casual with boots or flats, glamorous with heels… whatever your style, there’s a dress for you out there.

Today I’m wearing…

One of my all time favourites – a bright green Oasis skater dress.

Day 21 Wardrobe Inspiration: Black and White

Black & White

Tune into the monochrome trend and wear black and white today.

I say yes to black and white! Long labelled as boring, what’s boring about a superchic, sophisticated look like the above?

How to…

Make sure you have a pattern or black & white graphic print incorporated in your outfit. Black and white separates are really just boring I’m afraid. If you do need a bit of color, add bright accessories like a turquoise bag or red shoes.

Today I’m wearing…

A black and white graphic print dress I got in Mango about four years ago (it’s still bang on trend – that’s what I call value for money!) with a yellow blazer and plain black courts.
